Whichever faith one is affiliated with- from religion to pure spiritualism to atheism, etc. death is accepted as inevitability. But this acceptance is wrapped in diverse sub-beliefs and shades of emotions of fear to defeatism to motivation.
I’ve heard from many religionists that life is worthless and death is the ultimate reality. I feel sad for my fellow beings for such absolute conceding thoughts. God has given us life as a gift not punishment, and I strongly feel that it is an utmost disrespect for the Almighty, our Maker to reject or undervalue one of its greatest creations. Life has a purpose- ‘To live now to live ever after’. However, we can interpret what ‘to live’ mean to us individually and how to achieve the deathlessness subsequently.
Just because life has to end in death does not mean that one ceases to live awaiting own demise. Unfortunately, ‘Moksha’ or ‘Nirvana’ is sometimes misunderstood as denouncement of life in order to free the soul. I see it as killing the horse and running with the saddle in hand scenario – In other words, it’s like giving up on the means to freedom.
To reach somewhere one needs to begin from a starting point, then continue the arduous journey step by step, without besmirching the path itself which is leading to the destination. Path is as important as the destination; both coexist inevitably.
I feel that freedom is in learning how to live morally in the mortal frame, which can evolve to ultimate emancipation of the soul, depending upon how well one practises the art of living first. Life and death are the two spectrums of God’s system; it is the middle part which is crucial to master in order to understand the purpose of both- life and death.
‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’, no? Life means working towards growing, but this does not necessarily mean considering life as a chore or punishment. Equally, ‘play’ in life does not always connotate satisfying base appetite. One need to learn to enjoy self-development, just like exercising in the gym.
I’ve heard the phrase ‘ you live only once’ more times than I would like with all its erroneous implications. People choose to become complacent by excuse – ‘Since I am going to die anyway, my life deserves every gratification possible’. This germinates adulterated life leading towards inconsequential death. Make your entity count in both, its mortal and immortal phase.
Life is a balance between happiness and satisfaction. Is there a difference? Yes and no. For instance, going out with family and friends for an evening makes me happy, but when I feel mirth from within while meditating I experience satisfaction. In other words, one might need external stimulus to feel happy recurringly; however, satisfaction is perennially instinctive and renews itself once you’ve reached a certain level of self-growth.
For me, life is the training school and Nirankar (God) is the Principal of this institution. The curriculum comprises of syllabus which teaches the science, the art, and the mathematics of life. My reference study consists of these chapters: ‘Know thyself to appreciate fellow beings’, ‘Love all creation by God’, ‘Honesty begins with introspection’, ‘ Desire to evolve and evolve through what you desire’, ‘Raise vibration on humble grounds’, ‘ Meet your maker through your ownself’, ‘Nirvana is gotten through corporeal righteousness’, ‘Death is a bridge to another life’ ( For further details to the definition of life, death, and desire, please refer to my book ‘The 3fs of Law and Attraction’). I could author a separate article on each of these chapters, but for now, the titles may suffice.
Since I believe in the cycle of birth, death and rebirth, my performance in the current life shall decide the quality of the next life I reach via the bridge of death. My motivation in remembering death is to never forget to live.
In the end, I endorse my belief that life is a blessing, so, bask in God’s grace by living it fully. Through life one dies, and through death one is reborn. To break the cycle of rebirth, grow to become one with the Omni-Spirit.
Happy growth to all.

Oh yes. You’re born for the living. You live for the dying. You die for the living again. That’s the way the river runs, Lori Anne.

Your distinction between happiness and satisfaction, along with the idea that remembering death should inspire us to live meaningfully, is truly thought-provoking. There is no death, for it is a new birth again and again, warm life is born from the womb of cold death, as warm spring is born from the cold of winter

Very nice poetry. Love it. 👍🎉 The newness of ‘New birth again and again’ could also mean- conclusion of the previous birth; hence death of one birth in order to raise a new birth. Thank you for your great poetic comment. 🧡🙏

We are in the stage of enlightenment, like exams that are repeated from one life to another, determining our eternal destiny, in heaven or in hell

Learned a lot reading this. A very honorable class of Spanish soldiers called “the legion” have as their motto “death is not the end” and I think they are true. Their story date back five hundred years.
