Sometimes we wake on our left, sometimes on our right, and some mornings we feel hopeful and upbeat, while on other days we wake up anxious about what lies ahead or even about the unknown. I am blessed at the domestic front, then what could be the reason for downcast at times, I wondered?
I believe that we all are part of the same rainbow- different colours in varied shades, but the same prism in the collective sky. In essence, we are neither alone nor a completely independent entity. We are all linked. For instance, a tragic news story may not concern you directly, your culture, or your country, yet it can still evoke an emotional response. Thus, my self-diagnosis states that there is a nexus between my core nucleus and the outer macrocosm.
As such, my favourite part of the daily Sikh prayer is: ‘Tere Bhane Sarbat Da bhala’- May your (God’s) blessings bestow wellbeing upon everyone. So, today I woke up hoping for a better news headline, with a positive impact on mankind. Wishful thinking? Positive attitude? Well, both.
What is most saddening about the overwhelming news of killings, wars, starvation, shootings, etc., is that most of the disasters are manmade and categorically avoidable.
Naturally, my thoughts drifted towards sufferings that are very close to my own heart – Continuous oppression of my own community, which is man-created suffering because of intolerance and hatred of one against the other. Unfortunately, the same wind is spreading the fire in all four directions at the moment.
In my sentimental disposition, I always turn for solace from Akal Purakh (The All Doer) that resides within, and it often makes me feel more poetic than prosaic, but today I combine the two, churning out my consolidated consciousness. So here it goes-
When I asked the Nirankar,
‘Which way shall I turn?’
I heard my heart murmur,
‘Whichever way you want’
‘Would Thee be far and wide?’
My louden mind befuddled
The spirits beseeched hope,
Sanguinity whispered loud-
‘Let faith gather the sherds,
by conforming to His words.
Then soul begins to hear,
cloud dispel doubts clear.’
The confluence of my being
fuse the mind, heart, and soul.
You speak through me, to my orb
I see through you, at thy world.
As peace has prevailed in hope
My heart releases doves to all.
Without hope, one can’t wish positively, and without positivity, a person would always wake on the wrong side. So, like always, I found my solace in prayer and was answered with regained hope in myself, in mankind, with only peace as the global power – Someday…One day, but surely.
On that note, I feel inhaling the fresh air of freedom. So, I attach the current political development towards the liberty of Khalistan, via the podcast by Angus Scott and James Cousineau.
May peace be restored to the community, the martyred souls, and the global brotherhood.
