Most of us know the meaning of the proverbial phrase about half-empty or half-full glass. I would like to point out that even though the universal understanding is that half-full version reflects an individual’s positive focus, I also believe that half can never mean full but the juxtaposition is still positive despite the acknowledgment of ‘half-ness’. Let me clarify further. We can’t improve in life unless we are aware of the need for it; which would mean acknowledging the current shortfall. Before someone’s mind interjects here and shouts, ’This is a negative thought’, let me substantiate my claim that recognition of need and inadequacy can in fact be healthy and positive. If there is no shortage there won’t be any need, and without need, there is no desire, and life would be stagnant without desire. Desire is like the wheel which tows life further. The ‘half’ in half-full is therefore positive as it gives the reason to fill the glass more. Law of Attraction works because there is a desire to quench the thirst with more in the tumbler of life. So the half of the glass is the need to improve and full is the desire.

Wow thanks for sharing 😊 the half full/half empty cup is such a metaphor and you’ve made it go even further. I don’t know if this would interest you but an enormous find I found recently was Ann Weiser Cornell’s idea that negativity can be transformed into positivity. The negative voices in us are actually needs in disguise. If we can hear them as “I need this or that” they can be converted into something healthy. Behind the harsh aggressive critical voices is often fear, behind the fear is often concern or need. Does that help?

First of all, heartiest gratitude for taking time to provide your invaluable comments. With regard to Positive steering of negativity is an absolute science, and I agree with your review on the subject. We just need to be connected with our self deeply to practise.
In my book, ‘The 3Fs of Law of Attraction’, I have dedicated a chapter to the common five vices that most religious philosophies define generically. But these so called vices are manifestation of our own misconceptions; the five emotional elements are, in fact, rooted in natural positive instincts that mankind is gifted with.
The content of the book is available free of charge for the subscribers on my blogsite. No pressure, but I would love to hear your feedback on any chapter of the book, that you might be interested to read.
Once again, thank you, truly.🙏🙏❤❤🎉🎉
